Favorite Local Singer Artist

Charice Pempengco

I choose Charice Pempengco as my favorite local singer artist because I love her voice and the way she sings it really comes from the heart with full of emotions and feelings. Best known monymously as Charice she is a international Filipina singer who rose to popularity through YouTube. She also won as third honor when she joined ABS-CBN's Little Bigstar a talent show in the Philippines. Charice was vocally trained by her mother and was said to have never received any formal training. The New York Post once called her a vocal prodigy for being able to sing big songs even in her tender age. During her appearance at Good Morning America, David Foster mentioned in his interview that Charice has the capability of mimicking other voices which is a good characteristic of a better singer. Josh Groban said that Charice voice is one of the most beautiful voces he has heard in a long time. Her voice is being compared to Whitney Houston and Celine Dion. Charice has been awarded as Best New Female Recording Artist in Aliw Awards in 2008.
